MAGNETIC FIELD MEASURMENT FROM PROGNOZ 9

This home page provides access to full resolution magnetic field data obtained in the outer magnetosphere and in the solar wind by Prognoz-9.
The Prognoz 9 satellite was launched 01 June 1983 into orbit with perigee 45000 km and apogee 560000 km, orbital period was 26-27 days.
The data were obtained by an SG-70 fluxgate magnetometer provided by IZMIRAN's Space Magnetic Research Laboratory. The magnetometer had a range of +/- 60 nT and an accuracy of about 0.3 nT. It made one vector measurement every 10.24 sec.

Time span: 1983-07-02 - 1984-02-10

The ASCII format data set and the data description (originally generated at IZMIRAN/Russia) are placed at SPDF's FTP site FTP site
